VARIOUS CERTIFICATE AND DIPLOMA
PROGRAMMES FOR THE 2012/2013 ACADEMIC YEAR FOR MARCH INTAKE
Tumaini
University Makumira – Iringa University College invites applications from
qualified Tanzanian and non-Tanzanian candidates for admissions to various
certificate and diploma programmes for MARCH
INTAKE in the 2012/2013 academic year in all her centres – Iringa, Mbeya
and Njombe.
SPECIFIC MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
FOR THE DIFFERENT PROGRAMMES:
A. CERTIFICATE PROGRAMMES:
1. CERTIFICATE IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (CBA)
ADMISSION
REQUIREMENTS:
A candidate for
this programme must possess a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination
(CSEE) with a minimum of three passes, one of which must be mathematics.
2. CERTIFICATE IN ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE (CAF)
ADMISSION
REQUIREMENTS:
A candidate for
this programme must possess a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination
(CSEE) with a minimum of three passes, one of which must be mathematics.
3. CERTIFICATE IN ENTREPRENEURSHIP &
MICROFINANCE (CEMF)
ADMISSION
REQUIREMENTS:
A candidate for
this programme must possess a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination
(CSEE) with a minimum of three passes, one of which must be mathematics.
4. CERTIFICATE
IN HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT (CHRM)
ADMISSION
REQUIREMENTS:
A candidate for
this programme must possess a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination
(CSEE) with a minimum of three passes (O’Level).
5. CERTIFICATE IN LEISURE AND TOURISM STUDIES (CLTS)
ADMISSION
REQUIREMENTS:
A candidate for
this programme must possess a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination
(CSEE) with a minimum of three passes (O’Level).
6. CERTIFICATE
IN PROCUREMENT AND MATERIALS MANAGEMENT (CPMM)
ADMISSION
REQUIREMENTS:
A candidate for
this programme must possess a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination
(CSEE) with a minimum of three passes (O’Level).
7. CERTIFICATE
IN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT (CCD)
ADMISSION
REQUIREMENTS:
A candidate for
this programme must possess a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination
(CSEE) with a minimum of four passes (O’Level).
8. CERTIFICATE IN LAW (CL)
ADMISSION
REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must have obtained at least
two credits or four passes in approved subjects in the Certificate of Secondary
Education Examination (O' Level).
9. CERTIFICATE IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (CIT)
ADMISSION
REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates who apply for the Certificate in
Information Technology must possess form IV certificate with at least two (2)
credits or four (4) passes.
B. DIPLOMA
PROGRAMMES
1. DIPLOMA IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (DBA)
ADMISSION
REQUIREMENTS:
Category A:
Direct Entry:
A candidate for
this programme must possess a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination
(CSEE) with a minimum of three credits AND
Advanced Secondary Education Examination (Form 6) with at least two
subsidiary passes.
Category B:
Equivalent Entry Qualifications:
A candidate for
this programme must possess a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination
(CSEE) with a minimum of three passes (O’Level) AND a holder of Certificate in Business Administration or related
fields of studies from recognized institutions.
2. DIPLOMA
IN ACCOUNTANCY (DAC)
ADMISSION
REQUIREMENTS:
Category A:
Direct Entry:
A candidate for
this programme must possess a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination
(CSEE) with a minimum of three credits AND
Advanced Secondary Education Examination (Form 6) with at least two
subsidiary passes.
Category B: Equivalent
Entry Qualifications:
A candidate for
this programme must possess a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination
(CSEE) with a minimum of three passes (O’Level) AND a holder of Certificate in Accountancy or related fields of
studies from recognized institutions.
3. DIPLOMA IN ENTREPRENEURSHIP & MICROFINANCE
(DEMF)
ADMISSION
REQUIREMENTS:
Category A:
Direct Entry:
A candidate for
this programme must possess a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination
(CSEE) with a minimum of three credits AND
Advanced Secondary Education Examination (Form 6) with at least two
subsidiary passes.
Category B:
Equivalent Entry Qualifications:
A candidate for
this programme must possess a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination
(CSEE) with a minimum of three passes (O’Level) AND a holder of Certificate in Entrepreneurship & Microfinance
or related fields of studies from recognized institutions.

DIPLOMA IN HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT (DHRM)
ADMISSION
REQUIREMENTS:
Category A:
Direct Entry:
A candidate for
this programme must possess a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination
(CSEE) with a minimum of three credits AND
Advanced Secondary Education Examination (Form 6) with at least two
subsidiary passes.
Category B:
Equivalent Entry Qualifications:
A candidate for
this programme must possess a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination
(CSEE) with a minimum of three passes (O’Level) AND a holder of Certificate in Human Resource Management or related
fields of studies from recognized institutions.
5. DIPLOMA IN LEISURE AND TOURISM STUDIES (DLTS)
ADMISSION
REQUIREMENTS:
Category A:
Direct Entry:
A candidate for
this programme must possess a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination
(CSEE) with a minimum of three credits AND
Advanced Secondary Education Examination (Form 6) with at least two
subsidiary passes.
Category B:
Equivalent Entry Qualifications:
A candidate for
this programme must possess a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination
(CSEE) with a minimum of three passes (O’Level) AND a holder of Certificate in Leisure and Tourism Studies or related fields of studies from
recognized institutions.
6.
DIPLOMA IN PROCUREMENT AND MATERIALS MANAGEMENT (DPMM)
ADMISSION
REQUIREMENTS:
Category A:
Direct Entry:
A candidate for
this programme must possess a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination
(CSEE) with a minimum of three credits AND
Advanced Secondary Education Examination (Form 6) with at least two
subsidiary passes.
Category B:
Equivalent Entry Qualifications:
A candidate for
this programme must possess a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination
(CSEE) with a minimum of three passes (O’Level) AND a holder of Certificate in Procurement and Materials Management
or related fields of studies from recognized institutions.
7. DIPLOMA IN COUNSELING PSYCHOLOGY (DCP)
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
(a) Direct
Entry
An applicant
must have:
Certificate of
Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with at least three credits or five
passes.
(b) Equivalent Entry
Applicants who
are eligible for equivalent admission to a Diploma in Counseling
Psychology must hold a certificate of
Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with at least two credits or four passes
in their O’ Level; and hold a certificate in Counseling Psychology OR related fields of studies from recognized
institutions.
8. DIPLOMA IN
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT (DCD)
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
(a) Direct
Entry
An applicant
must have a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with at least
three credits AND a Certificate
of Advanced Secondary Education Examination with at least two subsidiary passes.
(b) Equivalent Entry
Applicants who
are eligible for equivalent admission to this Diploma programme must hold a
Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with at least two credits
or four passes AND a Certificate in Community Development or related
fields of study from recognized institutions or colleges.
9. DIPLOMA IN LAW (DL)
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
(a) Direct
Entry
An applicant
must have a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with at least
three credits AND a Certificate
of Advanced Secondary Education Examination with at least two subsidiary passes.
(b) Equivalent
Entry
Applicants who
are eligible for equivalent admission to this Diploma programme must hold a
Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with at least two credits
or four passes AND a Certificate in Law or the related fields of study
from recognized institutions or colleges.
10.
DIPLOMA IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
Category A: Direct Entry
An applicant
must have a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with at least
three credits AND a Certificate
of Advanced Secondary Education Examination with at least One principal pass in
Art Subjects OR two subsidiary
passes in Science Subjects.
Category B: Equivalent Qualifications
Applicants who
are eligible for equivalent admission to this Diploma programme must hold a
Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with at least two credits
or four passes AND a Certificate in Computer Studies or the related
fields of studies from recognized institutions or colleges.
11. DIPLOMA IN JOURNALISM (DJ)
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
(a) Direct
Entry
An applicant
must have a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with at least
three credits AND a Certificate
of Advanced Secondary Education Examination with at least two subsidiary passes.
(b) Equivalent Entry
Applicants who
are eligible for equivalent admission to this Diploma programme must hold a
Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with at least two credits
or four passes AND a Certificate in Journalism or the related fields of
study from recognized institutions or colleges.
12. DIPLOMA IN THEOLOGY
(DTH)
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants who are eligible for equivalent admission to the Diploma
in Theology programme must:-
(a)
Possess an Advanced Certificate
of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE), OR
(b)
Possess a Certificate of
Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with at least three credits or five passes, OR
(c)
Hold a Certificate of Secondary
Education Examination (CSEE) with at least two credits or three passes AND
any Certificate in Theology Studies or the related fields of studies from
recognized institutions or colleges.
MODE OF APPLICATION:
For those who
qualify and wish to join our university, the application forms are available at
the university – Iringa and her all centres or they may visit our Website: www.tumaini.ac.tz under the
heading “Application Form for March Intake”.
After filling
the application forms, you have to pay the application fee of 30,000/= to any
branch of the respective banks as shown in the application forms, attach the
Bank Slip Deposit and send or post them to the college as directed in the
respective forms.
THE DEADLINE FOR RETURNING THE
APPLICATION FORMS IS 28TH FEBRUARY 2013 FOR ALL CENTRES.
