Secrets Of The Secret Service is an exhaustive investigation into America's most mysterious law enforcement agency, detailing the weapons and tactics they use to protect the President of the United States.
Many of the service's current methods and technology have been introduced as a result of tragedy. The assassination of President John F Kennedy laid bare a catalogue of errors which left him vulnerable.
One of the major innovations to arise from that fateful day in Dallas was the redesign of the presidential limousine -- which is more like a tank than a car, sporting bullet-proof windows, tear gas cannons and significant armour plating.
One of the things to come from it was a change in the weaponry used. Agents now carry FNP90 submachine guns, with body armour piercing rounds. These allow an assailant to be taken out with pinpoint accuracy, without danger to the inevitable large crowds surrounding the President.
