It is said that knowledge is power, but knowledge is
power only for those who can use it. Most of us have knowledge that
seems to be irrelevant. We therefore, don’t have a chance to live or use
that power that most people talk about. In this post you will learn how
to start using your knowledge to make great things including money.
1. Be aware of the knowledge you have:
You should frequently examine yourself to find your
weaknesses and strength. You will realize that you have certain kind of
knowledge that makes you strong.
Knowing your weakness too can make you avoid things
that may make you lose money, while turning yourself to better options
according to your strength.
2. Put your knowledge into practice:
Having knowledge alone doesn’t help, you need to be
able to put into practice the knowledge you have. How many times we
learn new techniques of doing better in our lives – education wise or
business wise, but we leave those techniques in the book or the
internet.
How many times we read or watch very inspiring stories that we vow to change and be better people, but we don’t.
3. Your knowledge has to be up to date:
Yes, in the world of globalization and high level of technology development, it is possible to update your knowledge.
You may find that in some cases, if you have not
updated your knowledge, you will be behind the competition; hence you
narrow your chances of making big incomes and success.
Consider for instance, how to run a business has been
modified by the introduction of social media. Nowadays, many
organizations need to understand and use social media.
4. It might be all wrong:
Knowledge is power but only when it is right knowledge.
You might, for instance be missing job application
simply because the way you present your CV and application letter is
wrong. Unfortunately, according to your knowledge, that’s the best way
to write CV and application letter.
Another example is your organization’s profile or website doesn’t look professional, but according to your present knowledge that’s the best way to present your organization’s information/documents.
To avoid this problem, learn from the leading
organizations, or people. Use internet resources to cross check what you
think you know best.
As pointed out, things do change frequently, and in the way, when things change, they leave your un updated knowledge behind.
Meeting new people, getting exposure in other
geographical areas locally and internationally can also help you shape
what you think you know, and you may wonder one day that some things
that you thought you were quite right about them, are totally wrong.
5. Your knowledge can work in other fields:
Your knowledge on a certain specific field can be
applied in other fields if you carefully reason and create an innovative
comparison.
You may try yourself to apply your specific knowledge
in another field or create a joint venture with someone else whose
specialty is in that other field you wish to explore.
Therefore, don’t limit yourself by thinking that you are confined to doing only what your specialized knowledge can do.
You can integrate that specialized knowledge of yours
with other knowledge from other fields and come up with something big
to make money.
For instance, if you are a teacher, don’t tell
yourself you must always stay in class and teach – you could write
books, write blogs, create studying materials, conduct
seminars, your knowledge of psychology can help you work in an
enterprise of your own by building strong relationship with customers.
